History of Veolia Environnement

2000

Initial Public Offer on the Paris Stock Exchange

Vivendi Environnement was listed on the Paris Stock Exchange on July 20, 2000. Vivendi Universal retained over 70% of the company’ stock. A listing on the New York Stock Exchange followed in October 2001.
VE and EDF signed a partnership agreement to supply energy services.

2002/2003

Veolia Environnement

By December 2002, Vivendi Universal's shareholding in Vivendi Environnement had been reduced to 20.4%, effectively making Veolia Environnement an independent company.
The company changed its name to Veolia Environnement in 2003.

2005

A single name, Veolia

In 2005 the company’s four divisions, water, environmental services, energy and transportation, adopted a single name, Veolia, and a new logo.
The move signaled the desire of the entire company to link Veolia divisions in a coherent way and increase its visibility.
