Transportation Research Center
Based in Paris, this center focuses on logistics, ticketing, smart cards, clean vehicle design and new public transit services.
The Transportation Research Center is responsible for research, development and innovation for its parent company, the leading public transit operator in Europe.

With a goal of making public transportation more appealing, it fulfills its responsibilities by focusing on several areas:
- Experimenting with fuels and clean vehicles;
- Designing new transit systems that broaden Veolia Transport’s range of services, in particular by serving local, customized, routes;
- Designing innovative passenger services, using new computer, communication and geolocalization techniques, to enhance safety, comfort, information and general quality of life and enable passengers to make the most efficient use of their travel time;
- Lastly, optimizing the efficiency of transportation systems and infrastructure, for the benefit of operators and customers.
The Center is very involved in standardization, working with the international organizations CEN and ISO, and in sustainable development, as the lead for the deployment of Veolia Transport’s environmental management system.
It is also a partner of French PREDIT 3 projects and European projects under the Sixth EU R&D Framework Program.
