Veolia Environnement and Mubadala launch a joint venture compagny to build a strategic partnership in the Middle East, North Africa (MENA) region

Paris, Abu Dhabi, 7 October 2008 – Mubadala Development Company (Mubadala) and Veolia Water today announced their intention to create a joint-venture company that will focus on the areas of water production and waste water collection and treatment in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This activity could later lead to further joint ventures for other business sectors of the Veolia Environnement Group.

Veolia Water wins contract for Australia's first private water recycling scheme to an industrial network

Paris, 25 September 2008, Veolia Water, together with AquaNet Sydney Pty Ltd (part of the Jemena Ltd group) has signed a contract with the Sydney Water Corporation for the first private scheme for recycled water to a network of multiple industrial users in Australia.

Veolia Water selected by Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates

July 30, 2008. Veolia Water has signed a contract with the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA) for the financing, design, construction and operation of two new wastewater treatment plants in the cities of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. It represents the biggest contract to-date signed for wastewater in the Middle East.

Veolia Environmental Services Ile-de-France launches the first French unit producing biomethane fuel from biogas

Veolia Environmental Services Ile-de-France, in collaboration with Veolia Environnement’s Cleanliness and Energy Research Center (CRPE), launches a project to recover biogas in the form of biomethane fuel on its non-hazardous landfill site of Claye-Souilly (France, 77). By creating the first French unit producing biomethane fuel from landfill gas, Veolia Environmental Services demonstrates its commitment to bioenergy.
